Virgin Galactic, Weightlessness for 200k!
So it seems my post about Virgin America was pretty popular so I thought I’d tell everyone about Virgin Galactic. It doesn’t seem as though you can play Doom or Instant Message your friends on this flight but you will feel what only a couple hundred people in the world have felt and that is weightlessness.
The Mother Ship known as Space Ship Two ( 2nd version of spaceship ) flies to an altitude of about 50,000 feet and disconnects a separate space ship. This rocket ship fires up and shoots into outer space at about 360,000 feet, for the ride of your life. Passengers will experience 3 to 4 g’s during the initial launch into space. The zero gravity environment is said to last about 5 minutes before its decent back to earth. The whole trip takes about 2 1/2 hours.
Richard Branson and Virgin is set to launch this galactic experience in 2009 with one flight per week initially with hopes of increasing this to two flights a day. Flights require three days of training and cost 200k with a 20k deposit. Virgin Galactic is taking reservations now! Now all I need to do is rob a bank!
This does look like a really cool plane! Virgin always had good stuff.

Wow, this sounds awesome. I read your original post and thought, "Yeah right," but it seems it is likely true. That's awesome. I think I'll wait for them to perfect it a little more before I think about even stepping foot into a space craft. hah. Great post though!
